Frederick County officials completed the official canvass of Tuesday's primary with Mahoney losing 21 votes in the Democratic governor race bringing his tally to 1,301 while Sickles held at 1,570 and Finan led county results with 3,582 votes. Agnew still led the Republican governor total with 3,440. Burch led Attorney General with 3,139. Goldstein led Democratic comptroller with 4,868. Mathias Jr. won Congress with 3,939.

Children Taught To Fight Viet Prisoners Show Fear and Innocence
In the Da Nang area a group of prisoners including a 14 year old boy were captured by U S Marines and Vietnamese troops in the horseshoe near the coast. The boy, strapped at the ankles to a tent pole, had attended a Viet Cong demolition school. He led Marines to a cave then into a mine field he had laid where a Marine was wounded. A second prisoner, 20, refused to cooperate and walked under guard. The scene reflected fear, defiance and innocence amid the war.
