Weldon admits ordering private lot parking ban
Frederick's COO Rick Weldon testified on Tuesday that he ordered a no parking action on a private lot at 331 N. Market St. to remove junk vehicles and improve its marketability. He said the move was illegal as the site remained privately owned, refunds are being issued to about 20 motorists, and unpaid tickets will be voided.

City delays Wal Mart plan over traffic studies in Frederick
Frederick planning officials blamed the city for postponing a Wal Mart project off Md 26 after a lengthy Monday night meeting. The planning commission voted to delay to next month for more traffic data including a potential traffic light at Monocacy Boulevard and Riverbend Way. Wal Mart attorney Robert Dalrymple disputed the delay saying the city should not hold up the project. Alan Imhoff opposed the postponement with the rest voting to delay. Dalrymple stressed the store would be traditional not super and questioned a bus shelter requirement amid planned transit changes.

Woodsboro officials said two water line leaks are wasting 25 000 to 35 000 gallons daily, possibly negating the need to replace hundreds of meters. Wells were briefly shut for recasing and pump upgrades at about 5 000 dollars per well, with tests pending on meters at several homes.
