287 TRAFFIC DEATHS RISE IN MARYLAND
Maryland’s 1961 highway death toll reaches 287 after 19 year old Forrest E Barr of Kessel West Virginia dies when the car he rode in rear ends another on Maryland 16 near Westernport. A year ago toll on the same date stood at 371. Also noted is the Music Lesson annual Leadership Training for about 200 teachers and administrators from the Maryland State Teachers Association to be held September 15 to 17 at Camp Lowse Cascade.
