Power center clears hurdle near Key Mall site
Frederick County Planning Commission gave preliminary plat approval and adequate public facilities clearance for a Genstar power center on Md 355 east of Grove Road. The 471000 square foot center on 65.7 acres will include stores from 1,000 to 130000 square feet and 13 acres behind the center for a MARC rail station to Frederick and Point of Rocks. The project has no tenants yet and aims for eight years to finish. Also approved was Wellington Trace subdivision with 240 apartments and 347 townhouses on Ballenger Creek Pike, part of a larger planned unit development.
