Hotel owners can seek damages court rules
The Maryland Court of Appeals ruled that the Frederick Hotel Limited Partnership may participate in arbitration with Glen Construction Co. of Virginia over the 1984 to 1985 build of the 170 room Quality Inn off Enverstate 270 and Md. 85. The dispute began after Glen Construction was fired in 1985, and lower courts blocked arbitration for the partnership. The decision allows the developers Edward J. Joy and Robert S. Anderstein, who own Crown On and Wax Co of Delaware, to pursue arbitration with Glen Construction.
