Auto Workers Plan To Ask For More Now
Philadelphia Sept 13 The CIO United Auto Workers will demand that any higher wage formula used to settle the maritime strike be applied to auto contracts. VP R J Thomas said the seamen's settlement set a higher standard than the 1813 cents an hour for autos, noting the earlier pledge tied to a year of contract closure. He argued prices rose far more than the wage increase and asserted workers always want more money. Also Bernard E Fogle announced a Sunday film showing My Beloved Son at 7 pm. Admission free.

The State Dept of Public Welfare would investigate with the Children’s Aid Society likely handling county work. A business meeting follows next Monday at the same hotel.
