Heflin Sentenced In Harrisburg Shooting Case
James Brice Heflin, 23, of Frederick, was sentenced to two and a half to four years in a Pennsylvania penitentiary by Adams County Circuit Judge W. Sheely in Gettysburg. He was convicted of assault with intent to kill, aggravated assault and battery, and pointing firearms. Harold Perkins Jr., 19, Frederick, pled guilty to violating the uniform firearms act and was fined $14 by Judge Sheely. Jackson was acquitted for lack of evidence. The three Frederick youths were involved in a July shooting at Dicks Dam near New Oxford that left Benedict Ditter seriously wounded. Heflin, Perkins, and Roy Marvin Jackson were held for Frederick County grand jury on an alleged jail-break incident.
