Purpose Of Social Security For Farmers

W S King district manager of the Hagerstown Social Security Office explains that social security for farmers mirrors that for other workers. Old age benefits replace part of income when earnings are low or retirement occurs. Farmers with no earnings after entitlement can receive benefits regularly, and those earning over 1200 dollars a year may still get some months of benefits if earnings fall below 280 dollars or work is seasonal.
