Settlement reached in sexual exploitation claim against psychologist
A Germantown woman and her attorney announced a favorable settlement with American International Group over a sexual exploitation claim against her psychologist. The case was resolved before arbitration, with the board review of the therapist’s license now pending by the Maryland Health Department. The claimant, Sharon Kenrick, said she sought accountability rather than wealth and noted the growth of a support group for victims. Delegate Leonard Teitelbaum plans legislation to study and regulate such misconduct, while Kenrick continues to assist others through Wellsprings Alliance in Gaithersburg.
