Reapportion Deadline Set June 1 For Maryland
ANNAPOLIS AP A reapportionment group renews its request for a June 1 1965 deadline for the Maryland Legislature to reapportion membership in both houses on a population basis. The Maryland Committee for Fair Representation filed with the Court of Appeals a reply to the attorney general's statement that such a deadline is arbitrary. Formal arguments are set for next Tuesday when the term opens. The attorney general proposed ample time to work out the complex issues following the Supreme Court decree. A special session could be held after Sept. 1, 1963 if needed to pass an emergency bill reshuffling seats for the 1966 election. The regular 1965 session convenes in January.

Winfield Differs On School Issue
A Winfield residents group debates the Mt Airy Citizens League position on a new high school. A Mt Airy critic cites safety concerns as unfounded, noting prior school fires near Mt Airy and Sykesville. Local real estate ads follow.
