The bride, Yale Nursing Unit superintendent in Hunan Yale Hospital, trained at Baltimore’s Church Home Infirmary and sailed to China in 1921. Worley, born in China to Methodist missionaries, studied in America and worked for Asia Banking Corp and later Texas Oil Co. The couple planned to stay in China for a period, with a moonlit Altar of Heaven ceremony followed by a picnic dinner on the altar and a roof garden party at the Peking Hotel.
