Plan Would Give Largest Maryland Counties More House Seats
A special study commission chaired by William C. Walsh reported tentative approval of a plan to add seats in the Maryland House of Delegates for the four largest counties Anne Arundel Baltimore Montgomery and Prince George s while keeping Senate representation unchanged one seat per county and Baltimore City. The commission appointed by Gov Tawes met in Baltimore and newsmen were excluded.

Maryland court cases relayed from a lengthy sentencing session
A Maryland magistrate’s court heard a four and a half hour session featuring multiple defendants. Among them Carl Castle was sentenced for assault on a minor, with appeal bonds set. and Thomas Watkins and Edward Offutt faced speeding and wrong way charges respectively.
