Sheriffs men announce 17 year old Harry C Staf fey Jr located in Pittsburgh Pa after ten days missing from Blue Ridge Summit. Parents Mr and Mrs Harry Stanley told by the sheriff that details of the discovery were not released for safety reasons. Mrs Stanley recovering from shock as son’s disappearance unsettled the family.
President Roosevelt condemned violence after Senator Huey P. Long of Louisiana was wounded in an assassination attempt in Baton Rouge. Long survived following a bullet wound and a blood transfusion as guards and police sealed the capitol while the legislature pressed on with its agenda.
A farm to market roads program for 1946 47 in Maryland was approved by the PWA and will be added to Washington DC projects. Several WPA projects in Frederick Washington Harnack and other areas were rejected or delayed due to high cost per man year and insufficient scale. The action leaves other WEA and WPA projects with priority and signals start within two weeks in some cases.
The Merryland Tract Farmers' Club held its annual tournament Saturday afternoon at Farmers' Park in Petersville. Riders competed in amateur and professional classes with eleven entrants per class and four prizes awarded in each class.

Millard Berlto and Dr Ana Waser Smith were arrested at 9 o clock Sunday night by Officers Carmack and Phobus on fighting charges. Berlto released on $10 collateral. Smith jailed. LeRoy Roper released on $259 collateral early morning. Charges include being drunk and disorderly. details set for tonight in Port Torax court.
