Tawes Names Group For iTax Study
The Democratic governor candidate J. Millard Tawes named an advisory panel to study Maryland taxes and the potential effects of the Republican tax program. Richard W. Case heads the group, with lawyers and business leaders among the members. Devereux criticized the move as electioneering while archery spectators heard the remarks. The report is to the law, not the campaign, Tawes said. Labor endorsement followed, with the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen backing Democratic candidates.
