F. H. Lewis Named Elm Street School Head
Frank H. Lewis, Frederick school teacher, was appointed principal of Elm Street school by the county Board of Education at its regular meeting. He succeeds William M. Brish, who became assistant superintendent of Prince George's schools. Lewis has tied to Frederick schools many years and taught at North Market street and Elm Street schools. He faces final medical exam and possible induction into the armed forces after the school year begins on September 13.

Seven motorists lose gas rations for 10 to 60 days

He was promoted to corporal. His cousin, Private Clyde R Kendall, 20, son of Clyde Kendall and the late Hazel Toms Kendall, was seriously wounded in the Sicilian invasion and treated in a North African hospital. Both enlisted December 27, 1940, a year before Pearl Harbor, and have served together in all battles so far, per reports from Lantz.
