Weekend parade to feature A2 floats in Frederick

Forty two floats will roll down Frederick streets on Saturday for the city 250th anniversary parade. The American Red Cross float, one of six built by Graphic Universal, will show an all American theme with a glittering flag design. County proposes appointing half of the school board faces criticism

Frederick County public meeting on the legislative package drew opposition to Commissioner Yona Hogan's proposal to appoint half the school board if the county funds over half its budget. Drought Cuts Farm Income Across 8800 Acres in Maryland

HAGERSTOWN AP A Western Maryland man was sentenced to four years in prison by San Bernardino Superior Court Judge Robert Fawke for abandoning his 3 year old son in a San Bernardino shopping mall. Wolfgang VY. Nester Sr. 24, formerly of Smithsburg, received the same four year term previously handed to his wife Lisa Nester 24 on Aug 24.
