Permit Granted For Building Additions At 339 North Market

The Board of Zoning Appeals reversed a city engineer's denial and granted a building permit for a 15 by 15 foot one story storeroom and restroom addition to a Class A business at 339 North Market Street, operated by Mansel E. Hurst, Snow White Girl. Objections by adjacent owners cited light loss and odor concerns, but engineers argued a 1200 cubic foot ventilating fan and a chimney raise would prevent odors and that the one story, masonry, sheet metal project would not worsen fire risk or cut off light. The board noted the first floor is zoned for a restaurant and nuisance concerns did not apply to the appeal.
