A Widow is baptized by Elder McCann at Brunner's mill race in a Jim Crow era rite. The procession gathers West Church Street to Bentz Street with onlookers as the convert is submerged in the water and then clothed and welcomed by the Elder and sisters.
Detectives arrested Frisbie of Oregon and his wife aboard the Colon on arrival from Aspinwall. They traveled as Mr and Mrs Frank Kendall and confessed at the central detective office. A search found 1500 sewn in a child’s waistband while a 7000 shortfall in Frisbie’s accounts was reported.

Mayor Edson presided over an indignation meeting at Chickering hall where plans to impeach the aldermen who approved the Broadway surface railway bill over his veto were outlined. Report says each alderman received twenty five thousand dollars for their votes, which they deny.

Dave Ben and Andy Lewis two colored brothers kill Dave and Ben and Dave's wife in a Georgia distillery shooting scrape.
Judge Charles J. Folger, Secretary of the United States Treasury, died suddenly at 4 55 p m yesterday at his Geneva New York home from lung and liver disease. A veteran lawyer and public figure he had recently ceased cabinet duties. Folger’s career included New York Senate chief justice and a term as secretary of the treasury.
In a dispute over a woman at a saloon on East Front street, Cincinnati, Geo. Gilbert shot and killed Matthew Williams, both African American. Gilbert was arrested shortly after the shooting.
