Darrell Gilliam, 28, laments his wife Margaret Dupree, 23, being deployed with the U S N S Comfort as a hospital ship in the Persian Gulf. Married 20 months, Dupree enlisted in August 1989 and now serves active duty, while Gilliam works on structural iron work in Virginia. Frederick joins eight Aerospatiale Dauphin 2 helicopters in Maryland replacing older Jet Rangers. The latest finance reports show Democrat Ronald Sundergill with the top fundraising total among 26 candidates at Frederick County commissioner. Sundergill raised 16,233 from 397 contributors for Citizens for Sundergill 1990, while Sterling Bollinger Sr. and Bruce Reeder trail with 13,605 and 10,090 respectively. Reports cover Aug 8 to 31, list expenditures, loans, and remaining obligations. Sundergill filed in Annapolis, others in Winchester Hall Frederick.

Brinkley of Lake Spingore, Edward Campbell of Frederick, Melvin Castle of Frederick, and Donald Deering of Point of Rocks, detailing their careers, goals, and reasons for seeking a seat rather than higher office.
Merhle H. Duvall a 59 year old private contractor and school bus driver from Walkersville seeks a fifth term on the Frederick County central committee. He has long GOP ties including Farmers for Nixon leadership and Maryland Young Republicans service. His goal is to boost voter registration and narrow the gap with Democrats.
The 34th annual Thurmont Emmitsburg Community Show is slated to run September 7 through 9 at Cateetin High School. Weather forecasts predict pleasant conditions with highs near 80 and cooler nights before the event.
