Jobs for Older Folk See Better Opportunities Ahead
The National Association of Manufacturers projects the American labor force will grow by 10 million by 1970. To fill these jobs 25 million workers may come from older citizens aged 35 and up as the 1930s birth rate and postwar baby boom affect future employment. The slow postwar entry of babies into payrolls boosts prospects for older workers despite lower birth rates in the 1930s.
