Frederick County 4-H Dairy Team Wins State Championship
Frederick County 4-H dairy judging team captured the state title at the Timonium Fair and two members earned places on the state team bound for Waterloo, Iowa in October. Richard Holter and Jack Remsberg of Middletown placed high individually. Avon Manoff and Tedey from Howard County earned the other spots. The Frederick team topped Howard Washington Harford and Montgomery counties, with coach Bradley Jones guiding the squad. Individual honors included Holter and Remsberg in Guernseys, Jerseys, and Ayrshires judging, while Donald Hert also placed in Ayrshire judging.

Two entries from C B Teegarden and Sons of Ashville Ohio won top honors in the polled Shorthorn division. Alpine Sensation named grand champion bull and Gloster a two year old heifer shared female grand honors. Maryland entry Raleigh Lily Dark Queen took Jersey grand championship for Rich Neck Farm of Earleville. Judges have not announced garden and farm produce results.
