Yale president assails high court sodomy ruling at Yale
Yale President Benno C. Schmidt Jr addressed about 200 people at a Yale conference on homosexual studies to condemn the Supreme Court decision upholding Georgia’s sodomy law calling it a judicial flight from intelligence. He defended his earlier letter about Yale as a gay school and urged calmer campus discourse amid campus controversy. The conference, co sponsored by Yale’s new Lesbian and Gay Studies Center, explored AIDS minority status and homosexual representations in art with attendees from several states.
