Frederick County leaders push lighter state mandates and local flex
The Frederick County Commissioners and delegation to the General Assembly met at a legislative breakfast to discuss a nine item wish list for Annapolis. They sought fewer state mandates, local flexibility in budget cuts, and authority to issue 25 million dollars in bonds for five new schools. The package also proposed using fire tax money for capital improvements and adding blackjack to allowed carnival activities pending attorney general opinion.
