Tuition rule sparks retaliation warnings in MontCo vote
Montgomery County board approved charging foreign students full tuition for their children. Ambassadors pay full tuition while diplomats and other foreign workers who pay property taxes will be taxed. Estimated revenue could reach 15 million dollars. The plan follows years of debate and a taxpayer revolt led by TRIM and the Taxpayers League. About 150 nonresident students attend county schools and contribute roughly 900000 annually in tuition from nonresidents.
