Civilians suffer higher Viet Nam toll than soldiers says doctor
Dr Wayne W Hall of Ridgewood New Jersey after a six week survey in Viet Nam reports civilians are far more injured by bombs than military personnel and that war conditions are reducing civilian health care. He cites more than 5000 American deaths since 1960 and estimates ongoing civilian deaths roughly equal to 5000 every six months. The doctor warns beds go to the wounded, leaving untreated illnesses.
