Pupil polio shots lag in Frederick County schools
A county wide survey shows 32.4 percent of Frederick County pupils have not received polio immunizations. Readouts by school reveal 100 percent in Horsey Elementary, 79.9 percent in Lewistown Elementary, 90.7 percent in North Frederick Elementary, and 85.6 percent in Yellow Springs. Principal Hauver urged continued vaccination and booster tracking, noting a county health clinic operates monthly and urging parents to arrange physician or health department booster appointments.
