Dorothy Hobson Remembered for Civic Involvement in Frederick
Dot Hobson moved to Frederick thirty years ago as highways opened the area to migration and rural roots gave way to new residents. She led the Frederick Art Club Newcomers Club and Frederick Woman's Civic Club, chaired district and state federations, and organized Mardi Gras and Bell and History Days. An artist and singer, she supported the Green Walled Garden Club and Community Concerts, with art shown in public spaces. She died this week in Baltimore, where she had lived with her daughter for years.
