She noted persistent transients and described federal aid enabling group care for up to three months with clothing, using Salvation Army Monterau home as shelters reimbursed by the board. Annapolis Oct 24 AP At request of Mrs Harriet Kearfott of the Board of State Aid and Charities Police Magistrate Thomas G Basil issued warrants for the arrest of the time officers and the superintendent of Mt Olivet Orphanage at Millersville. The warrants charge four with operating an orphanage without a state license. Morton formerly pastor of Fulton Avenue M E church in Baltimore took the post after James W Ford’s resignation. It became necessary to close the orphanage Mrs Kearfott said though they are still soliciting funds. They lack equipment and personnel to run an adequately rated orphanage. Representatives of the Millersville Orphanage have frequently solicited in Frederick.
