Richmond results spark regional 4 H livestock judging contest
Maryland 4 H B team placed fourth of eight at a regional contest during the Mid Atlantic Exposition and Virginia State Fair in Richmond Virginia Tracie Clabaugh led the team with a third in seasons and 11th overall Greg Soper finished 14th Aaron Geiman 16th and Tricia Stabler was the alternate. Six new directors will be elected at the Montgomery County Agricultural Center Inc annual meeting November 7 8 p.m. at Gaithersburg ag center. The center will also award four 2000 scholarships and elect 1993 officers in December Retiring directors are named from Gaithersburg Clarksburg Dickerson and Silver Spring.

Ninth annual Mid Atlantic Forestry Seminar agenda set
An agenda of outstanding forestry programs has been assembled for the ninth annual Mid Atlantic Forestry Seminar to be held from 930 am to 4 pm Saturday Nov 3 at Frederick Community College. Registration begins at 830 am. Attendees will hear topics on global climate BMPs and wetlands management and low value wood products plus workshops on silviculture wildlife planting and chain saw safety.
