Police raid nets 28 juveniles at Rainbow Human Restaurant
Frederick City Police doubled arrests early Sunday, detaining 28 youths from inside or near Rainbow Humans Restaurant and Lounge at 123 N Market St. About 100 people were in the club when officers arrived. The operation used a dozen officers and a city bus to transport detainees to headquarters. Charges included harassment by Rainbow manager George Busey, with the mayor saying the aim was to check downtown places amid curfew enforcement. Additional checks occurred at Donnelly's, The Starving Artists Cafe, Bushwaiter's, and nearby apartments and lots. A 15-year-old faced drug possession charges. a 14-year-old girl faced three counts of assault and battery. Continuous curfew checks planned.
