Emmitsburg joined a growing list of Frederick County towns short of water. Officials warned that without a healthy rain within 30 days the situation could become extremely bad as Walkersville and Brunswick also face restrictions and drought fears. The Monocacy River flow has been low for weeks, though Frederick City remains supplied. Lack of rainfall blamed. Myersville and Thurmont also affected. The five day forecast predicts little or no rain.

Baltimore Man Held For Larceny
A 23 year old Baltimore man Daniel Franklin Brim was arrested Thursday evening and charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny in connection with the Prentis mansion antique theft. Bond set at 5000 dollars. Brim allegedly sold several of the nearly 30 heirloom antiques. four were recovered in Baltimore over the weekend. Investigation ongoing. police believe more suspects are involved.

Arrest Youths in Tire Theft Case at Frederick Motor Co
Police arrested a 19 year old county man and two 11 year old juveniles for stealing four tires hubcaps and a floor mat from a 1949 Ford on September 21 at the Frederick Motor Company lot on South Wisner street. A six foot hole was cut in a fence to access the lot and items valued at $60 were recovered. James Robert Siers of RFD 6 Frederick is charged with petty larceny and destruction of property. the juveniles have been turned over to juvenile authorities.
