Frederick County Circuit Court hears Keister appeal to overturn the Board of Appeals denial of an airstrip on his Bethel Road 120 acre farm. Hearing set for Oct 25. Keister says plane operated 1972 to 1988. officials cite need for a zoning variance since the 1950s.
Poolesville officials will meet Maryland Open Meetings Compliance Board over a ruling that the town violated the Open Meetings Act twice. The board found no violation in other cited incidents and noted one executive session touched on a job description apart from legal advice.
A 25 member task force of business community and school leaders begins work on a long range financial and management plan for Montgomery County public schools. Co chaired by Michael Barnes and David P. Snyder the group includes Norman Locksley Owen Nichols and Dee Gold. Interim report due January final plan by July to guide schools to 2000.
