Fredericktowne Players open Blithe Spirit season at Weinberg Center

Fredericktowne Players begin their 1978-79 run with Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit at the Weinberg Center for the Arts. The Nov 2 opening gala includes a champagne reception. the production stars Anne Elkins as Elvira with E Kempton Hood as the husband and Fran Crum as Madame Arcati. The cast also features Billie Cage, Nancy Eller, Neil Hoffman, and Vickie Haas. Tickets are $4 front orchestra and $3 rear orchestra with student and senior discounts. box office hours are 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday.

Washington AP report says Los Angeles will host the 1984 Summer Olympic Games with presidential backing. Mayor Tom Bradley and IOC president Lord Killanin signed the contract at the White House in a ceremony missing President Carter, who expressed support for the city’s bid for a second time in 50 years.
