Thurmont polls open Monday for two commission seats
Thurmont residents head to the town office at 7 a.m. Monday to elect two of four commissioners for four year terms. Incumbents Frank R. Martin and Edward G. Hobbs face Wayne A. Hooper and Bruce C. Loverock with growth control and attracting industry as top issues. Martin supports growth limits under the APFO and relocation of the police to Public Square. Hobbs Hooper and Loverock favor minimal growth to protect small town life, with Loverock citing strict growth caps. Voting ends at 8 p.m. Registration information is available by calling 271-13.
