City youth charged in High's robbery

A 17-year-old Frederick boy, Wendell Bruce Thomas, was charged as an adult in the October 12 armed robbery of High's Lore on East Patrick Street. Police say two youths robbed the store. a clerk was robbed but not injured. Thomas surrendered Friday morning. another arrest is expected. Charges include two counts of armed robbery grand larceny petty larceny two counts of possession of a handgun in commission of a felony two counts of assault and destruction of property.

Administration economic mission stalls inflation plan

The goal of cutting the 1977 inflation rate of 6.4 percent by midyear is unlikely, with a new estimate showing inflation at least half a percent higher. Three people hurt in separate Frederick mishaps

State police at Frederick report three injuries in distinct single car accidents. Hoffmaster, 20, of West Patrick Street, was hurt on Route 210 near the county line and treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Beverly Ann Tyler, 20, of Mowat Army, sustained injuries on New Design Road after fog limited visibility and she failed to yield. she was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital and cited for failure to reduce speed. Christopher Mark Cooper, 38, of Rockville, was injured on Md 7 near Catoctin Hollow Road. he was charged with failure to reduce speed and transported by Thermont ambulance.
