Last Day at Maryland Fair Sees Record Friday Crowd
Rainy weather yesterday did not deter a massive Friday turnout at the Frederick Fair. By noon the crowd reached an estimated 5,900 to 10,000, far surpassing Thursday. Harness races were canceled due to track conditions, but running and chariot events and grandstand attractions proceeded. Poultry shows dominated with extensive premium lists and judges awarding dozens of top prizes across many breeds and flower and cake departments.
