The Frederick County Council of Boy Scouts held a Saturday field meet at the high school grounds with six troops competing. Troop 8 of the Maryland State School for the Deaf won with 27 points, followed by Troop 7 of Frederick with 20 and Troop 9 of Frederick with 9. Event winners covered inspection, knot tying, dressing race, first aid, fire making and water boiling, signaling, street roping, and antelope face. A Saturday hike was planned for 9 am from Headquarters with games and cooking tests, plus Fathers and Mothers Night reported for Troop 2 of Walkersville and a talk by Scout Executive Thomas Sparrow.

Justice August T. Brust presided over 15 police court cases Monday. Adrian Mackall was found guilty of operating Dr. Frank H Heiges’s automobile while intoxicated and without permission.
