Frederick County to fund Rural Scenic Roads plan and road work
The Frederick County Roads Board unanimously endorsed a plan to dedicate nearly 20 percent of county roads to a Rural Scenic Roads Program covering about 200 miles on 92 roads. Final approval by county commissioners expected in November. The board also urged funding for Black Ankle Road improvements at about $47,000 if available for FY 1996, with alternate timing if funds are lacking, and rejected another plan for the segment to Buffalo Road due to cost. A rumble strip experiment at Old Annapolis Road and Blythedale Drive will be observed, and a light humorous note was made about a contractor’s flood groundhog paint incident on Mountville Road with a 90-cent brush given to Donnie Crum.

First Frederick County flu clinic draws 1200 shots
More than 1,200 people lined up for flu and pneumonia shots at the Frederick County Health Department on Monday. The $7 shots drew seniors and other eligible residents as organizers praised efficiency and noted this year’s turnout may top last year’s early figures.

Four Hurt In Canyon Rockslide At Grand Canyon Camp
The Grand Canyon rockslide struck a camping party of 16 river rafters from Noahs Ark Whitewater Rafting Buena Vista Colorado. Four injured with one hospitalized after the weekend accident while the rest continued the trip. Evacuation was delayed by weather before four were airlifted to Phantom Ranch for treatment.

False resume prompts suit against Crownsville official
Maryland Attorney General J Joseph Curran sued former Crownsville Hospital Center head Haroon R Ansari in Baltimore County Circuit Court alleging resume padding and seeking 62000 in wages plus a 10000 collection fee.
