Williamsport Power Plant Expansion Opens in Maryland

Williamsport Maryland marked the opening of Potomac Edison’s new 4.5 million dollar six story addition to its Williamsport generating plant. The upgrade adds a 35 000 kilowatt unit bringing Williamsport capacity to 85 000 KW and expanding supply for Prestern Maryland and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. In nearby Hagerstown plans advanced for a tie in between the city plant and Potomac Edison as the two systems compete for power delivery in the area.
