Man shot at Lincoln Apts in Frederick
A 22 year old Baltimore man was shot numerous times at very close range outside Lincoln Apartments minutes after midnight. Frederick police reported he is in critical but stable condition. No arrests or motive yet. Lt. Tom Chase said there is no clear drug link and investigators cite seven bullet wounds to multiple sites including legs buttocks and forearm.

Hunter’s license suspended for a year for negligent hunting

Remsburg Jr. 29 of Poole Road Jefferson is sentenced in Freder ick County District Court for negligent hunting and hunting at night after wounding Charles Montgomery and his son Robert on opening day of deer season in 1998. Prosecutors dropped charges of hunting on private land without permission and hunting without a license. A separate restitution hearing is set.

TJ student hit by car near Gov Thomas Johnson High
A 12 year old boy, David Michael Ayres of Liberty Road, was struck crossing North Market Street near Gov Thomas Johnson High School at 11 46 a m. He was flown by state police helicopter to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore in fair condition. The driver, Ronald William Gibbons Jr 16, of Bartonsville Road, was driving north on North Market Street. Police said the crash resulted from pedestrian error as Ayres did not use the crosswalk.
