Alternate route for draft master plan proposed
GAITHERSBURG an alternate route for the Shady Grove area of the future Corridor Cities Transitway would go around the King Farm rather than through it. The plan would route transitway along Omega Drive and Key West Avenue, linking with the Master Plan alignment that exits on Great Seneca Highway. The project team from the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission will detail the alternative at a Nov 1 open house at Casey Community Center from 3 to 8 p.m. The planning board will hold a work session on Nov 16 at the Commission building to discuss the recommended alternative and public comments. A consultant will then prepare a detailed comparison to the approved Master Plan.
