Season football picks from a busy Big Ten card
Pack And Pitch Pigskin Plenty should hurdle Mississippi State at Montgomery on the night of Oct. 14. Pittsburgh's dream backfield is 'picked to halt Wisconsin's march at Madison. While Michigan's sophomores and veterans proved themselves against Michigan State, the Wolverines are not yet ready for Minnesota's strength. Ohio State looks weak against Northwestern, so the Purple may win at Evanston. Notre Dame faces a tough task from Illinois, while Iowa aims to break into the victory column against Chicago at Iowa City. California appears balanced against USC, Stanford edges Tex Oliver and Oregon, and Southern California has a breather against Washington State. Rice and Ernie Lain should win against Tulane in New Orleans. Texas Christian shows its stick at Texas A and M. Texas over Arkansas in Little Rock. Indiana to suffer a third straight loss to Nebraska in Lincoln. Iowa State beats Missouri at Columbia, and Oklahoma looks solid against Kansas. Favors are easily upset as ever.
