Woman Bigamist Given 2 1/2 Years in Maryland Penitentiary
Elmer Hurd of Hagerstown was sentenced by Judge Glenn H. Worthington to two years and six months for bigamy after pleading guilty. A request to move confinement to the House of Correction was denied. Hurd, who married Pearl Rudisill in 1921 and Anna May Roberts in 1925, had previously served 15 months for larceny. His second wife testified he believed his first wife had divorced. The court condemned his bad faith and conducted business as usual after his mother screamed in court.

Auto Collision Near Buckeystown Bridge Causes Damage
On Sunday around 5:30 p.m. two cars collided on the Buckerstown pike near the Ballenger Creek bridge. Owned by B. F. Ricketts of West Fifth Street and a colored man named Weedon of Buckeystown, no injuries were reported. The Buick darted into the Ford, ripping the left fender and causing extensive damage. the Ford was towed to Frederick. Weedon’s car had front damage and a side flare. No charges were filed.

In Randolph Virginia October 11, the eighth annual saddle horse endurance ride began with 14 entries. The 300 mile five day grind uses U.S. Army mounts from Virginia Massachusetts Pennsylvania and Vermont plus several private horses.
