The state fire marshal’s office shut an East Potomac Street building in Brunswick after discovering major fire code violations. Three apartments were evacuated from the Irv Kolker owned property after a by local inspector Jerry L. Chipley audit found no fire escapes, no alarm system, unenclosed stairs, and faulty outlets. Kolker has seven days to fix the issues or face possible criminal charges and a $100 daily fine. an extension may be requested. If he stops renting, the codes may not apply.
