Washington AP reports that Monday’s Treasury auction yielded lower short term rates. Three month bills sold at an average discount rate of 4.96 percent, down from 5.01 percent last week. Six month bills averaged 5.07 percent, down from 5.17 percent. The three month rate marked its lowest since 4.87 percent last April.
Chicago prices climb with farmers delaying fall harvests amid low price signals. Soybeans gain on strong export sales to China and expectations of a large second historical harvest. corn also rises as drying delays persist. Wheat moves mixed as markets take cues from soy and corn. beef futures up while pork futures retreat.
