The Maryland Fiscal Services report says private reform schools can house juveniles at lower cost than the Victor Cullen Center conversion into a state detention home. Bartlett and Hattery clash on issues in Crestwood forum

About 200 Crestwood Association members watched Roscoe Bartlett and Thomas Hattery spar over campaign topics in a joint appearance. No pay hikes for elected officials in '93 package

Frederick County commissioners on Tuesday rejected salary increases for elected officials as part of the 1993 legislative package and instead formed a bi partisans commission to study the issue. They deferred action to next year citing tough economic times and discussed the matter with Delegate James E. McClellan and Sheriff Carl Harbaugh.

FAA approves Harp farm airstrip in Wolfsville area

The FAA granted approval for a 12 foot airstrip on Lucinda Harp's 59 acre Wolfsville area farm between Brandenburg Hollow and John Cline roads. The Harps plan limited use to themselves with a two seater plane, while neighbors urge rehearing over alleged discrepancies. The board paused and later reconsidered. FAA will issue official notification after review.
