October 7, 1956 saw Frederick busy as fans watched the Orioles and Dodgers clash in Los Angeles. Moe Drabowsky earned the 5-2 win for Baltimore with Frank and Brooks Robinson homering off Don Drysdale. Meanwhile three would-be thieves were deterred by nearby residents at Urbana Radio Shop. state police found nothing disturbed. Frederick Community College trustees approved 2076 dollars in carpet for library and offices as enrollment stood at 470. Election officials found a new home for 84 voting machines, moving from Montevue infirmary to a Thurmont Construction–built facility on Montevue grounds.
