Army Guard memorabilia and Pershing photo collection story
A 1934 Frederick Maryland Times item details a minted token of the Maryland National Guard, a Colt 38 rifle insignia, and a .30 caliber auto rifle across Guard regiments. It notes an autographed General Pershing photo, a Bugs Baer eulogy by Considine, and Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address clipping among Guard camp items. The piece hints at a 28 day enlistment in a National Army for defense of rights.
