Frederick city lawmakers moved to create a Parking Authority. Aldermen asked city attorney Herbert Rollins to draft an ordinance and plan a three step approach, including need assessment, funding, and bond counsel review. Downtown flower pots to be lowered on light poles
City officials rejected moving the cast iron pots to brackets and authorized a test to lower the pots about 18 inches on 12 street light poles. Engineer Robert Rothenhoefer said the pots weigh about 300 pounds empty and nearly 400 pounds with soil, and lowering them to 14 1/2 feet above the sidewalk should allow easier watering without obstructing trucks.

Light Plant Sold For $30,000

In Ellenville New York state trooper Stanley Kowalik 26 was shot during questioning at a gas station. After a nine mile chase the fleeing car crashed near Accord and Wesley Brown 31 of Spencerville Maryland was captured two hours later at a roadblock. Education Aid Bills Pass House and Senate
Washington AP reports both the House and Senate approved education aid bills totaling billions for 1967 and 1968.
