Man Shot Himself Along U S Route 40 Near Frederick
A well dressed man identified as Dan Stearns, 62, shot himself in the head beside U S Route 40 about four miles west of Frederick, Maryland. He survived, told police the Marine Inspection Bureau in New York can verify his identity, and said he had traveled from New York City to Martinsburg, West Virginia, before taking a bus to Frederick.
